Subject: Respect and fairness
I was very interested in reading Chacko’s book when I saw its title, “AWAY FROM THE MADDING WORLD.”
I observe that Chacko wrote this book based mainly on his life experiences. He gives examples of injustices of various kinds he has noticed. By this writing, he is communicating to the reader that it is the basic right of every human being to be treated with respect and fairness. Chacko emphasizes that positive attitudes, and respect for others, can make a tremendous impact on us and those around us to strengthen relationships.
The author also holds the view that we must do our best to win the hearts of humans and God to derive happiness and peace of mind, and people remember someone not because of his or her wealth or fame, but because of his or her character, and deeds.
Some major takeaways from this writing for me: (a) Do not judge others, as we do not know what is happening in their lives. (b) I am the only person who can shape my life. (c) Our earthly life is short, so it should be spent wisely.
I think this book is an eye-opener. So, stay AWAY FROM THE MADDING WORLD.

Primarily based on the author’s own observations of life, AWAY FROM THE MADDING WORLD is a moving, thoughtful, well-written, emotional, and compelling read. I was caught up in the book from Chapter One: Subservience to Selfishness and hated to put it down to take care of even important tasks. By the time I reached Chapter Seven: The Shackles of Poverty, I had to grab the box of tissues.
Here’s one example of Kuriakose T. Chacko’s prose:”Born as paupers and stuck with fate, a never-ending struggle occupies the center of many lives. They die with their dreams unfulfilled. Some do not even dream, for they see no sunrise or daylight on the horizon…”
See what I mean? It helps make you grateful for what you have (at least it did me).
Chacko writes about basic human rights and glaring injustices, to how our own attitudes impact us and those around us, to how religion (whatever type of religion that may be) can shape our lives. His reminders to show understanding and respect for people and cultures and to be fair in all that we do are reminders that are sorely (and sadly) needed.
5 stars and so highly recommended!

I knew I was going to enjoy the book but I was pleasantly surprised. The book “Away from The Madding World” took me by surprise by surpassing all my imagination. It was all I expected and much more. Quite a huge book and you need to read it slowly just you make sure that you understand every page and that it sinks in. It’s so refreshing that more people are thinking about this world and how we are being impacted by the lack of morals and love. I particularly liked the section on religion. A word that is highly polarising these days but in it’s pure form it can be the solution we all need.

At first, I wasn’t sure what to expect, but loved the thoughtful exploration of such diverse topics. Hitting on issues in the world, our family, and ourselves, the author reflects a broad range of knowledge and skill. Topics are well organized so it is easy to read straight through, skip, or go back to re-read key topics. Thought-provoking and inspiring.

I like that this book takes a different approach by being more analytic about the woes that we experience and how to cope with them.

AWAY FROM THE MADDING WORLD is a book that focuses on the concepts that nothing else is even close to love and respect for self and our fellow humans, and reverence for the sacred, to conquer our setbacks and make life meaningful. A well-written page-turner.

This is a really insightful book that takes a look at a lot of the problems in the world. If you are the contemplative type you will like this book. Recommended

Good read, and teaches us to show empathy. We must not be too harsh on fellow humans and learn to love and respect all.

This is the author’s indoctrination, perspective of life and his expression of his search for life’s meaning and purpose. The author states as early as the introduction “My discussions of familiar topics are also intended to stimulate contemplation.” which is good for the reader to keep in mind. This is one mans idea, his perspective, his mission. You as the reader may or may not agree. Some of what’s expressed here is simply what once was the golden rule. Religion, especially Christianity, seems to be the authors indoctrination and is where he seems to have found his life’s purpose and answers to life’s meaning. God here, is referred to from his perspective and understanding and your idea of God may differ. The author mentions “Gods House”, many believe God is not “housed”, so I would suggest the reader to consider what’s written here as it applies to your beliefs.

I don’t agree with some ideas, but I think that it’s where this book became interesting to me. I am tired of all self-help books talking about the same thing, just picking a different angle and presenting it in a slightly different way. I picked up a lot of captivating ideas that got my attention and I will implement those to see if what the author is saying works in real life.

While I didn’t always agree with the authors conclusions, I enjoyed his passion for presenting them. The book is a magnum opus of his life long musings and his search for meaning, understanding and purpose. It is a great insight into his thoughts and his monumental desire to obtain reason and hope amid the suffering. I commendable achievement.

“Away from The Madding World”… is the author’s perspective of life and search for purpose. He clearly states that the topics discussed are intended to stimulate contemplation which they do. This isn’t a book to breeze through, and you might find yourself re-reading certain parts again. But it is worth the read.

A good book on moralities and good deeds. Some were common sense though. Overall, good read

Some insightful thoughts here. I would have liked a little more detail on references and background to the sources used but overall this was a good analysis.

There are some interesting thoughts in this book. The author could have provided some additional info on references, etc, but overall it is a good read.

This book is very deep into how the author based his theory or the bible and Gods future for us. I believe that everyone is entitle to their own opinion and should do as the like but think about what the abbreviation of the bible stand for: B.I.B.L.E : Basic Instructions Before Leaving Earth. If that does not open your eyes then i don’t know what will.

The author’s viewpoints are narrow in many areas, including their ideas of religion and what is acceptable or not in society. Some of his statements are a little oft-putting. However, overall the book does a good job of sharing the author’s religious perspective with the reader.

I have to admit, this book was a little tough to get through. The author has a very opinionated and religious view of the world. If you have an open mind and can see through some of the rhetoric, he does have some solid ideas and points. His purpose is noble, to work towards societal change. I’m not sure he accomplishes his goal without some compromise of his opinions.

The idea of this book is good but the author’s passion is amazing, but this book got boring for me and I didn’t finish it properly. I just went through the summaries of the chapters.
